FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers)

It’s for learning and growing through real projects.

We believe that the purpose of our education ultimately follows from our purpose for God. We also think that even for non-christian types, learning feels so much more relevant and exciting when it’s tied to a real sense of where we want to go in life.

It’s for building character and a “growth mindset” focused on living on purpose for God.

We believe that God wants us to be productive and to glorify Him in all we do. We think it’s important to give our kids (and ourselves) an opportunity to grow toward God’s purpose in our lives by intentionally seeking to accomplish real things. We can learn quite a bit through study, but we also need to experience and overcome real trials in a genuine pursuit of our purpose for God.

Wherever we are on our path, we can stop and ask ourselves, “Where are we going and how are we growing for God?”

RealProject.io is like Facebook, Thingiverse, Skillshare, and Etsy all rolled into one great platform! It’s a place for people who like to learn by doing real stuff. The kind of people who help each other and aren’t afraid to make mistakes while daring greatly.

We have a ton of other ideas that we’re planning to add to RealProject.io! Want to share an idea? Great! Start your free membership and then head over to the RealProject.io project page and join the discussion!

Simple. Just register for a free membership! We’ll walk you through the rest and you can ask questions anytime! There’s no commitment, we protect your data, and you can leave anytime you like—no strings attached! (Registrations are currently by request only as we are still in beta. Don’t let that stop you! Just get in touch!)

It’s free! This site was made by Idea7 for The Real Project Foundation and will remain free for as long as we can keep it that way. We have no plans to ever change that.

If you decide to buy things or sell things in the marketplace here, a commission from that sale goes to help maintain and grow this site. Also, if you want to start selling a lot of things here, you can optionally upgrade to a “Pro Vendor” account and you’ll keep more of your sales revenue with a lower commission. We also offer “Partner” accounts for people that are seriously interested in helping to grow RealProject.io. Please contact us if you think you want to contribute as a Partner!

Idea7 made this site and is currently running it for The Real Project Foundation. The Real Project Foundation is a 501c3 Public Charity that was originally founded in 2009. This site will be updated soon with more info about our organization. If you’d like to request more immediate information just contact us!

Good question! The easy answer is it covers part of the cost of running the site.

Here’s a bit more info:

First, the commission covers the transaction cost that is charged by the payment processor. (We’re currently using Stripe because it’s a reliable and secure service.)

Next, the commission helps pay for the high-performance server, maintenance, and upgrades to keep the site running. Right now, Idea7 is running the site.

So far, we don’t get enough funding from commissions to cover our costs, but we have a plan for when we do! Since we’re a 501c3 Public Charity, any extra funds (or donations) will go toward things like the future Real Project Challenge where student teams are given the opportunity to be competitively selected to have their Real Projects funded!

The easiest way is to tell your friends about it and buy stuff in the RealProject.io marketplace.

No problem! Just fill out this form and we’ll get back to you ASAP!
